#4 Terriers will look to rebound as it opens its Hockey East schedule with a home-and-home series against #11 Connecticut. Tonight's game at Agganis Arena is set for 7 p.m. and will be live streamed on ESPN+. Saturday's game at Toscano Family Ice Forum has a 5 p.m. puck drop.
Last season, BU had a 1-1-1 record against the Huskies, winning an early season tilt, tying in Febuary and then losing, 5-2, in the Hockey East semifinals.
Cole Eiserman leads the 2-2-1 Terriers in goals and scoring with a 5-2-7 line, followed by Cole Hutson and Ryder Ritchie with six points each.
Five games into the season, BU's face-off game has taken a step forward following a visit to practice from ex-Bruin Patrice Bergeron, whom Jay Pandolfo coached as Bruins assistant. Brandon Svoboda has won 57.4% of draws, Kamil Bednarik 54.7%, Owen McLaughlin 50.7%, Jonathan Morello 47.1% and Sacha Boisvert 42.1%. Overall, BU is at 51.8%, fourth best in Hockey East E.
In Thursday's practice, according the Boston Hockey Blog, defense pairings were changed: Hutson-Aiden Celebrini, Sascha Boumedienne-Gavin McCarthy; Malte Vasse-Charlie Trethewey; and Mick Frechette-Carter Amico. Boisvert, who missed last Saturday's game against Michigan State, skated but did not appear to be in pads. His status for the weekend is uncertain.
UConn (2-2-0) has split series with Colorado College and Ohio State. Its offense is led by veteran forwards: junior Joey Muldowney, a 29-goal scorer and second-team All-American last season; seniors Ryan Tattle and Tabor Heaslip; and junior Jake Richard.
Goalie Callum Tung has moved on, but senior Tyler Muszelik, 2.02/.939 a year ago, returns. The Huskies lead D1 in hits per game with an incredible 34.5.

Looking ahead
2026 recruits Egor Shilov and Rian Chudzinski were standouts in the QMJHL Top Prospects game on Tuesday. Shilov had a power play assist and a shootout tally to help Team Lafleur claim a 6-5 victory. He was a play-driver throughout the game. Chudzinski scored a goal and assisted on another in Team Crosby’s three-goal third-period rally that sent the game to overtime.
► Video highlights: Shilov at 3:45, 5:41; Chudzinski at 4:29
FloHockey’s Chris Peters posted about the game’s top performers., including both Chudzinski and Shilov.
Rian Chudzinski, RW, Moncton Wildcats
Chudzinski is an energetic player who has some solid puck skills and can make some plays. His motor runs constantly and he’s always looking for ways to drive the net. He finished the Prospects Game with a goal and an assist and gave scouts some things to think about. He doesn’t wow you in any one particular way, but as he has often this season, he finds the scoresheet and makes solid offensive plays.
Egor Shilov, C, Victoriaville Tigres (Lafleur)
Shilov got an A rating from NHL Central Scouting this week, which was not terribly surprising given his position and how he has performed this year. Shilov had good flashes, showing off his high-end playmaking ability, vision and anticipation. But the knock on him is one that showed up a bit in the game. He needs to be harder to play against and more engaged in the defensive zone. His offensive skill is notable and there’s little doubt he is among the most talented players from the QMJHL in this draft class. If he can show that compete level and some battle, he’s going to be a first-round pick easily.
►2026 5-⭐️recruit Tynan Lawrence will make his season debut tonight when Muskegon takes on Waterloo. The Lumberjack’s captain and MVP of last season’s Clark Cup playoffs missed ten games due to a training camp injury. Multiple 2026 draft projections have Lawrence ranked between #5 and #10 overall. Prior to his training camp injury. Lawrence was a standout play-driver for Canada in the Hlinka-Gretzky Cup where he earned a Silver Medal. He joins fellow recruit Viktor Norringer on the ice as well as uncommitted Lars Hutson.
