face #5 Boston College in the late semifinal of the 68th Beanpot
Tournament at TD Garden. Puck drop is scheduled for 8 p.m. for the contest that
will be televised on NESN in New England, NHL Network nationally and TSN2 in
Canada.
BU will be looking to return to the tournament championship game. Last season, the Terriers lost in the semifinal after reaching the final the four previous years. BU has won the semifinal in 53 of 67 times and has taken home the silver pot a record 30 times. BC has the second most titles, 20.
Coach Albie O’Connell, who captained BU in 1998-99 and won four Beanpots as a player, will be seeking his first as head coach.
In their first meeting of the season two weeks ago, BC edged BU, 4-3, on a late deflected goal at Conte Forum.
Tonight's game will feature six of the top 20 scorers in Division1 hockey. For BU: David Farrance (29), Patrick Harper (28) and Trevor Zegras (26). For BC: Julius Mattila (31), David Cotton (29) and Logan Hutsko (23).
