#8 Terriers defeated Holy Cross, 5-2, in Worcester on Saturday to complete a sweep of the season’s series with the Crusaders and gain an important two points in the Hockey East race. With four conference games remaining, BU is in second place, three games ahead of BC with a game in hand. The victory also gave BU a second consecutive 20-win season.

After Holy Cross opened the scoring just a minute into the game, BU took command scoring three times in just over three minutes. Jesse Compher’s 10th goal at 13:48 was followed by Nadia Mattivi’s fifth at 14:01 and Sammy Davis’s 13th at 16:52 on a power play.

Davis’s goal extended the lead to 4-1, again on the power play in the second period. Holy Cross got one back late in the period. Courtney Correira’s seventh goal in the third period closed the scoring. Kate Stuart stopped 17 shots and improved her record to 7-1-1.
