#5 UMass broke a 1-1 tie midway through the third period
and added two more tallies to defeat the Terriers, 4-1, at the Mullins Center
in Amherst. It was another busy night for graduate transfer goalie Sam Tucker
who made 36 saves, including five during a major penalty to BU in the second
period.
THANK. YOU. SAM. TUCKER.

A five-on-three UMass goal by late in the first period
was matched by Cam Crotty’s first goal of the season, midway through the middle
period. Mitchell Chaffee’s second goal, an unassisted effort at 10:12 of the
third, proved to be the game-winner. The Minutemen would add an even-strength
goal by Matthew Kessel and an empty-netter by Colin Felix after BU pulled
Tucker for an extra-attacker.
