Game Day: Terriers visit Maine; Women host NU

Terriers are back on the road headed to Maine for a two-game series with the 4-2-0 Black Bears. Puck drop tonight at Alfond Arena is set for 7:30 for the contest that will be live-streamed on CBS All-Access.

Maine is coming off a 2-1 victory at Vermont in which Jacob Schmidt-Svejstrup scored both goals. The previous weekend, the Black Bears split a series with #8 Quinnipiac. Offensive leaders are Eduards Trelmaks (6G,3A), Tim Doherty (3G,6A) and Mitchell Fossier (8A). Goalie Jeremy Swayman, a Bruins draft pick, has a 2.20 GAA and a .940 save percentage.

Last season the team split a pair of games at Agganis Arena. In the final regular-season game, BU was blanked by Maine, 6-0, in Orono.

BU’s offense is paced by Patrick Harper with nine points (4G,5A). Patrick Curry (6G,1A) and David Farrance (3G,4A) each have seven points. Curry’s six goals are tied for the NCAA D1 lead.  Sam Tucker produced his fourth career shutout—and first as a Terrier—in the 3-0 blanking of New Hampshire. He stopped 57 of 60 shots in two games last weekend.

Coach Albie O’Connell told the Daily Free Press that Harper, who left the UNH game after one period, and defenseman Cam Crotty, who missed the game entirely, were “day-to-day.”
