USCHO: How the Top 20 Fared, Oct. 15-16

Looking ahead

Five Terrier recruits have been named to NHL Central Scouting’s ’21-’22 Preliminary Players to Watch List. Three received a B ranking, which projects as 2nd or 3rd round pick:  Ryan Greene (RC, Green Bay/USHL) Lane Hutson (LD, NTDP U18) and Devin Kaplan (RW, NTDP U18). Two received a C ranking, which projects as 4th-6th: Jack Harvey (LW, Chicago/USHL) and Michael LaStarza (RW/Waterloo/USHL).

Greene, a 6'1" center from Paradise, Newfoundland who is in his second USHL season after two strong seasons at Selects Academy, has been projected as a late first-round pick by several prospect evaluation services.

Harvey, currently tied for third in USHL goal-scoring with five, is in his second year of draft eligibility. EliteProspects 2021 NHL Draft Guide opined:

It’s puck skills that define Harvey’s game. Like the best puck-handlers in the NHL, Harvey’s feet and hands operate independently, each transmitting their different information to defenders while keeping the puck across his hips. One of the draft’s best toe-drags ensure he’s always eye-catching, but it’s how he doesn’t needlessly handle the puck or isolate defenders that make him so impressive.

Looking back

Joel Farabee scored his second goal, added an assist and was +3 in the Flyers’ 6-1 win against Seattle. Max Willman made his second NHL start for Philadelphia.

Clayton Keller’s power play goal gave the Coyotes an earlier lead, but Arizona fell to St. Louis, 7-4. Keller, who, as a peewee, played the Junior Blues in Quebec Invitational, also added an assist.
