#16 Terriers return to conference play with a home-and-home series against Merrimack beginning with tonight’s road game at Lawler Rink in North Andover. Puck drop is at 7:00 p.m. for the contest that will be live streamed.
The Warriors (2-2-0) are coming off a split at Colgate, losing 2-1 in overtime to the Red Raiders and then rallying from a 3-1 deficit to win 5-3. Their top scorer (6 pts), senior forward Max Newton, was Hockey East’s Player of the Week with three goals, including Saturday’s game-winner, and an assist. Junior forward Ben Brar has five points (3G,2A) and junior defenseman Declan Carlile has four (2G,2A). Sophomore Alex Jeffries (3A) was a Hockey East All-Rookie selection last season. Sophomore goalie Zach Borgiel was in goal for both Merrimack wins.

Sophomore Drew Commesso sports a 2.60 GAA and a .922 save percentage.
Special teams have been a Terrier strength over the first four games. Penalty-killing is a perfect 16 for 16 and the power play (4 of 13) is clicking at 30.8%, making BU the only D1 school that is top 10 in both categories.

Looking back
Former Terrier standout Dave "Sniper" Tomlinson has been hired by KJR-A/Seattle radio as an analyst for Seattle Kraken broadcasts. The North Vancouver, B.C. native, previously was a radio analyst for Canucks games.In four years (1987-91) as a Terrier, he totaled 179 points (77G,102A), seventh best in program history. His best season was as a member of the 1991 NCAA finalist team when he produced a 30-30-60 scoring line.
Post-BU, he played 42 NHL games with Toronto, Winnipeg and Florida before spending 11 seasons in Europe, primarily with Mannheim and Hamburg.

Women’s Team
The 3-0-2 Terriers are on the road for a pair of non-conference games in upstate New York. Tonight, they’ll face RPI in a 6 p.m. start. Tomorrow, the opponent is Union College with puck drop at 3 p.m.
BU’s attack is led by senior Courtney Correia (9 points, photo), junior Julia Nearis (7 points) and senior Mackenna Parker (6 points). Senior Kate Stuart (2.53 GAA) and freshman Callie Shanahan (1.00) have split the goaltending duties.
BU last faced the Engineers eight years ago, playing a 2-2 tie at Houston Field House. RPI is coming off a weekend sweep of Union College.
