#12/15 Terriers (1-1-0) look to return to the winning side of the puck as they begin a two-game home series against Sacred Heart (0-2-0) tonight. Puck drop at Agganis Arena is at 7:30 p.m. for the game that will be streamed on College Sports Live.
The contest will be the third meeting between the teams. BU took a 7-0 win in October 2016, while the Pioneers blanked the Terriers in November 2019. Sacred Heart was doubled up in both its games this season, falling to Merrimack, 4-2, last weekend and to UConn, 6-3, on Oct. 2.
On this week’s media call, Coach Albie O’Connell said, “We’ve had a really good week of practice up to this point. I think our sentiments on Saturday night, what we saw live, was pretty accurate about how we played last week. I don’t know if we’re looking for redemption, but we’re looking to play again. I’m excited by the energy and focus in practice this week.”
He added that there would be a few line-up changes with several players “dinged up.”
The Pioneers’ attack is led by forward Braden Tuck (16 points last year), Austin Magera (14) and Ryan Steele (12), whose sister, Sarah Steele, played defense for the Terrier women and now is with the NWHL Toronto Six.

Restricted free agent Brady Tkachuk, a pre-season holdout, has signed a $57.5 million seven-year contract with Ottawa. Tkachuk, who led the Senators in scoring last season with 36 points (17G,19A) and was second in the NHL in hits (248), was called a “prototypical power forward in today’s NHL,” by Ottaw GM Pierre Dorion.

#11 Terriers will look to earn their fourth win in five starts when they host Merrimack tonight at Walter Brown Arena. Puck drop is at 7 p.m. for the contest that will stream on College Sports Live.
Last weekend, BU upset then-#2 Northeastern, 2-1, and tied New Hampshire 3-3, but lost in the shootout. In the victory over the Huskies, senior goalie Kate Stuart stopped 35 of 36 shots. Stuart’s back-to-back saves on a pair of point-blank shots in that win earned a spot in the Hockey East Plays of the Week (video).
