THFB Readers: Apologies for no game report when you're checking in. My neighborhood had a power outage last night with about five minutes left in the game. Perhaps a blessing since I didn't get to watch the ending to BU's extremely disappointing 3-2 loss to Sacred Heart. Here are links from the BU athletics site for now. Looking back
Charlie McAvoy has signed a $76 million contract extension that will keep him in Black & Gold for eight more seasons. NBC Boston reports that "It's the largest contract in Bruins history in terms of total value and average annual value."
The Long Beach, NY native was a restricted free agent going into the final year of his three year entry contract. Since entering the league in 2017, McAvoy ranks second among all defenseman in plus-minus with a plus-80 rating.

Alex Chiasson scored his first goal for Vancouver on a power play and added an assist in the Canucks’ 5-4 shootout win against Philadelphia. Joel Farabee had a goal and an assist for the Flyers, whose line-up included recent call-up Max Willman. The Barnstable, Massachusetts native, who played one season at BU as a graduate transfer from Brown and was Farabee's teammate that year, logged 9:30 in ice time (1 shot, 1 hit, 1 penalty) as he become the 90th Terrier to suit up in the NHL.

2022 recruit Quinn Hutson’s goal at 0:44 of overtime—his second tally of the game—gave Muskegon a 6-5 come-from-behind win against Chicago. Hutson’s first goal came on a power play and had tied the scored at three apiece. 2023 recruit Jack Harvey had a pair of goals for the Steel, with his second extending Chicago’s lead to 5-3.

2022 recruit Michael LaStarza scored Waterloo’s only goal in regulation and its only shootout goal as the Black Hawks were edged by Omaha, 2-1. Recap.

Terriers rallied from a two-goal third-period deficit to tie Merrimack, 4-4, thanks to Courtney Correia's second goal of the night and Julia Nearis' power play tally at 16:39. After a scoreless overtime, the Warriors won the shootout to gain the extra point in the standings. It was BU's second consecutive shootout loss.
